Good days

Yesterday my father had a good day. After i got home from work we went up to the canyon here in Utah for a wonderful drive. We had such a great time talking, laughing and taking pictures. I am so grateful for all the good days that we have, even if they are out numbered by the bad. I treasure the moments I have with my family and hope that we will have many more to goof days to come.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I do not know anybody personally but I just want to say to everyone who is newly diagnosed, in remission or currently in treatment for breast cancer, Have faith. Hang in there and thanks for being so brave. I know that you have good days and bad days but just remember the good days, and look forward to the better days.
Thanks again for being brave fighters.

My father's story

My father’s journey began in September of 2006. He went to see he doctor for his yearly physical. The doctor found a tumor on his left kidney. Within three days of diagnosis my father was in the operating room having his left kidney removed. He was cancer free for 3 years. In October 2009 they found a tumor on his right kidney. Just 3 months ago we found out that the cancer had spread to his adrenal gland, the stomach and in the muscle. He is on his second round chemo medication. We are hoping that the cancer will not grow any more. My father is now on dialysis to help out his remaining kidney. He goes three times a week to do the dialysis.

His right kidney started to shut down after a blood clot in his leg. With kidney cancer it is normal to get blood clots. He is now on a blood thinner. We have been learning a lot since he his diagnosis. We want other to learn and know about renal cell carcinoma.

I will keep his progress posted.
